โ† Studio N for Ireland

Trust & compliance

The questions you should ask a supplier outside the EU - answered before you ask them.

Studio N is based in Kyiv and works with clients across Ireland and the EU. That raises fair questions about data, ownership and continuity. Here are the answers, straight.

Data protection

Ukraine has no EU adequacy decision. Here is what we do about it.

  • Production data stays in the EU. We deploy to EU-hosted infrastructure - Dublin, Frankfurt or Paris. Your data does not leave the jurisdiction it started in
  • Development uses pseudonymised or synthetic data. We do not need your real records to build or test a system
  • Where live access is genuinely unavoidable, it happens by remote session with no local persistence
  • Encryption in transit and at rest, with keys held in the EU
  • Role-based access and full logging, time-limited and revocable by you at any point

Where personal data genuinely is transferred, we sign an Article 28 Data Processing Agreement with EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Decision (EU) 2021/914, Module Two) annexed.

Ownership

You own everything, from day one - not on final payment.

The most common complaint about any web supplier, foreign or local, is losing control of your own digital estate.

01

Accounts in your name

Domain, hosting, DNS, repository, analytics, payment gateway, email - all registered to your business with you as owner, on day one. Not transferred at the end. Created that way from the start.

02

Full IP assignment

All deliverables are assigned to you in the contract. Ukrainian law treats moral rights as inalienable, so we use a covenant not to assert rather than a waiver - a point your solicitor will recognise.

03

No proprietary lock-in

Standard technology: React, Vue, Node, Laravel, PostgreSQL, established CMS platforms. No in-house framework only we can maintain. Any competent developer can pick your project up.

04

Walk away clean

If you stop working with us - mid-project or after ten years - you keep everything and need nothing from us. Documentation and credentials are maintained throughout, not written in a hurry at the end.

Contracts & VAT

Paperwork your accountant and solicitor will recognise.

  • Master Services Agreement plus a Statement of Work per project - the structure EU buyers expect, not an invoice with a paragraph on it
  • Irish law and Irish courts where you want it. We are comfortable contracting on that basis
  • Liability capped at fees paid over a rolling twelve months, with the usual carve-outs for IP infringement, confidentiality and data breach
  • Written change control. Scope changes are quoted and signed before work begins, so a fixed price stays fixed
  • Vendor onboarding pack available: business registration extract with certified English translation, tax residency certificate, bank confirmation, DPA, SCCs, sub-processor list and security questionnaire responses

Continuity

Yes, there is a war. Here is the plan, in writing.

Ask it directly rather than quietly deciding against us. Ukrainian software teams have delivered continuously since 2022, but "it has been fine so far" is not a plan. This is:

  • Redundant power and connectivity - battery backup and independent internet, so a grid outage is an inconvenience rather than a stoppage
  • Nothing critical lives in Ukraine. Code, infrastructure, CI and backups are EU-hosted. Your project does not depend on a machine or a connection here
  • Documentation maintained as we go, so a handover is possible at any point without a knowledge transfer period
  • Escalation and notification terms in the contract - you are told promptly if delivery is at risk, rather than discovering it from a missed deadline

Who you are dealing with

One named person, publicly findable.

Studio N is led by Ivan Nikolenko, a senior full-stack developer with 13+ years building websites, e-commerce platforms, custom applications and AI systems end to end. Registered as an independent business in Ukraine, trading internationally.

The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it. No account management layer, no junior team you have not met, no outsourcing you were not told about. If work is ever subcontracted, you approve the sub-processor first - that is in the contract.

Working hours: Kyiv is two hours ahead of Dublin, year round. You get a Friday video walkthrough of real progress and a shared board you can open any time.

Ask it directly. If the honest answer is inconvenient for us, you will still get the honest answer.
